Archaeology Field Trip, Taylor Site
Led by: Jacquie Dale, Cascabel community archaeologist with Center for Desert Archaeology
Where: Started and ended at Cascabel Community Center, hike to Taylor Site
Jacquie led a group of about 30 participants on a short hike from the CCC to the Taylor Site. She explained that people have been living in the San Pedro Valley for thousands of years, and that this specific site has artifacts from throughout that period. She took the group to several residential and activity areas within the Taylor Site, and described some of the understandings of how the various peoples lived within that context. Back at the Community Center she had available artifacts typically found in the area for participants to examine. The presentation was followed by a breakfast burrito bar.
Co-sponsored by the Cascabel Working Group.
